It has a triple baffle system welded to the inside of it to ensure that it is easily able to bleed any air from the cooling system and keep it from reentering the engine once separated.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eWe weren't fond of any existing options for a sightglass, since the external tube units are prone to leaking and the small round window units don't tell you the coolant level, just if it's up to that point or not. So we ended up machining our own billet sightglass that gives a full picture of the coolant level across the entire height of the tank! It is also entirely serviceable, so IF it does ever begin to leak, or the window becomes tarnished by coolant, the sealing o-ring can easily be replaced and the window can be re-polished or replaced very easily!\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eSpeaking of o-rings, our coolant tank utilizes large -10ORB barb fittings to make it plug and play for your 10th Gen Civic whether it be a 1.5T, 2.0L or Type R! your oil pickup tube surrounded by oil, this means higher oil pressure during hard turning. From the factory there is nothing in the pan to control oil flow in the sump so we knew we had to change that!\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eOur baffle replaces the factory windage tray and features 4 one way oil control flaps (2 on each side) that allow oil to flow towards the pickup tube but not away from it. With a precise fit to the pan there is minimal room for oil to flow around the baffle which keeps as much oil as possible near the pickup during driving but still allows oil to drain from the pan without any hinderance. Our baffle also acts as an improved windage tray which helps to cut down the amount of air that gets stuck in the oil which further helps keep oil pressure stable. Lastly, since the windage tray section does not dip down like the factory windage tray there is more room underneath it for increased oil capacity, almost a full quart more!\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eOur baffle provides the following improvements:\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cul\u003e \u003cli\u003eHigher oil pressure during hard cornering\u003c\/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eDecreased oil aeration from the rotating assembly\u003c\/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eHigher oil capacity (from 3.7qts to 4.5qts!)\u003c\/li\u003e \u003c\/ul\u003e \u003cp\u003eTo install our oil pan baffle the factory rivets must be removed and the pan drilled and tapped for M6x1.0 bolts. If you do not want to deal with that we do offer the baffle preinstalled in a new pan. This puts extra thermal load on top of an already overtaxed cooling system and if you're tracking your Type R you are probably well aware of how much these cars struggle to keep coolant temps in check on track and quickly get put into limp mode once they get too hot!\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eUnlike every other oil cooler kit on the market which all use a traditional\/generic sandwich plate between the oil filter and the engine, our kit uses a bespoke oil cooler housing that replaces the factory oil heater. The cooler housing uses -10 ORB ports for large leak free o-ring sealed connections. It features an integrated thermostat to allow oil to get up to temperature fast and then closes once the oil has reached running temperature and all oil is forced through the heat exchanger. Lastly, our cooler housing doesn't allow coolant to flow through it so the engine coolant is no longer tasked with having to remove heat from the oil, giving it more bandwidth to cool the engine block and cylinder head.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eThe heat exchanger we use is a robust 19 row unit and is located in the main grille where it can receive sufficient airflow. The mounting brackets are made from stainless steel and are designed in such a way that they interrupt airflow as little as possible. Not only that but the brackets are entirely bolt on, using existing mounting points on the car means no drilling holes or cutting any metal to make it fit. This mounting position also keeps the hoses as short as possible (less than 3 feet total for both hoses!) which means minimal drop in oil pressure!\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eAll of the mounting brackets are made from a robust stainless steel and are entirely bolt on; not drilling required! One of the primary reasons for doing this is for emissions as an engine that gets up to running temp faster creates less emissions. This puts extra thermal load on top of an already overtaxed cooling system and if you're tracking your Type R you are probably well aware of how much these cars struggle to keep \u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003ecoolant temps in check on track and quickly get put into limp mode once they get too hot!\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eUnlike every other oil cooler kit on the market which all use a traditional sandwich plate, our kit uses an oil cooler housing that replaces the factory oil heater. The cooler housing uses -10 ORB ports for large leak free o-ring sealed connections. It features an integrated thermostat to allow oil to get up to temperature fast and then closes once the oil has reached running temperature and all oil is forced through the heat exchanger. Lastly, our cooler housing doesn't allow coolant to flow through it so the engine coolant is no longer tasked with having to remove heat from the oil, giving it more bandwidth to cool the engine block and cylinder head.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eThe heat exchanger we use is a robust 19 row unit and is located in the main grille where it can receive sufficient airflow. The mounting brackets are made from stainless steel and are designed in such a way that they interrupt airflow as little as possible. Not only that but the brackets are entirely bolt on, using existing mounting points on the car means no drilling holes or cutting any metal to make it fit.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eAs the name implies, we don't stop at just the oil cooler though. Just like the factory oil heater, there is also a transmission fluid heater too. Once again the cooling system is used to remove heat from the transmission via the heater block bolted to the front of the transmission. It is only available in a grey hard anodized finish. This finish is impervious to heat, brake fluid and brake clean. It also does not use dust boots since they are not able to withstand prolonged heavy brake heat without degrading. Lastly, the piston material is stainless steel instead of hard anodized aluminum to reduce heat transfer to the brake fluid.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #000000;\"\u003eThe amazing features don't stop at the caliper though.
