f10-m5-intake
F10 M5 Intake

The factory F10 M5 intake is not a sealed design: the front opening attaches to the front air ducts behind the grilles, while a second opening draws from the engine bay against the wheel-arch liner. That the engineers needed a second opening shows one is not enough to meet the engine's airflow demands, since the front intake has barely the cross-sectional area of the MAF. While efficient at keeping temperatures low, its angular shape, small volume and indirect airflow path leave performance on the table.

Infinity Design instead uses a smooth one-piece expanding inlet tube with an integrated MAF, attaching directly to the inlet tubes via silicone couplers. The expanding, large-volume tube acts like a big velocity stack that accelerates airflow far more effectively than the short stack inside the OEM intake, giving far smoother low-rpm torque, vastly improved drivability and immediately sharper throttle response. Front air-feed extensions force air fully into the front duct rather than letting it escape and cause turbulence.

High-Flow Air Filters & Intake Temperatures

The filter is almost completely encapsulated within its housing, rejecting the majority of hot engine-bay air, while the front inlet angle circulates cool outside air evenly around it. At 30 mph and above, inlet temperatures equal ambient under normal cruising; under full load they rise only 6°C / 10°F in hot conditions before levelling back to ambient, so the ECU does not pull timing as it would with a hot-air open intake.

Performance Testing

Dyno tests were performed under strict controlled conditions on a Dyno Dynamics machine, comparing the best stock run with the best run on the Infinity intake. 15–25 hp is gained through the rev range, with excellent gains below 3,000 rpm from the smooth, elongated inlet tube and the majority of improvement from 4,750–7,200 rpm where the OEM intake becomes restrictive. Infinity Design deliberately quotes realistic figures rather than the ~35–40 hp that could be shown by comparing lowest stock runs to highest modified runs.

Features

+15–25 hp through the rev range (dyno-verified)

100% pre-preg carbon fibre construction

No ECU tuning required

Smooth one-piece expanding inlet tubes with integrated MAF

Encapsulated filters with front air-feed extensions

Faster turbo spool-up and improved throttle response

Direct OEM fitment; gloss or matte carbon finish

What's in the Box

2 × Venturi Inlet Tubes

2 × Air Filter Housing / Inlet Ducts

2 × Bespoke Infinity Design Air Filters

2 × Black metal clamps

2 × Silicone Joiner with Clamps

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0688/4599/4122/files/F10_M5_Carbon_Intake_Full_Kit_5d1e3126-2eb1-4b9a-ad82-6a69c5ed5c31.jpg?v=1782663600
