CatalogPilot Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how SBX Performance LLC (“SBX Performance,” “SBX,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and retains information when Shopify merchants install or use the CatalogPilot Shopify app (“CatalogPilot” or the “App”).
CatalogPilot is a Shopify app designed to help merchants review, organize, and improve product catalog data, including product filters, product metafields, tags, options, Search & Discovery readiness, catalog health reports, proposed fixes, verification results, and rollback records.
By installing or using CatalogPilot, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App.
1) Information CatalogPilot Accesses
When a Shopify merchant installs or uses CatalogPilot, we may access Shopify product catalog information from that merchant’s store as needed to provide the App. This may include:
- Product titles and descriptions
- Product tags
- Product options and option values
- Product metafields and metafield definitions
- SEO titles and SEO descriptions
- Product type, vendor, category, and related catalog fields
- Collections and related catalog organization data
- Shop domain and app installation/session information
- App configuration and merchant-selected settings
CatalogPilot is intended to work with product catalog data. CatalogPilot does not request or use access to customer records, order history, payment card information, fulfillment records, or financial information unless we update the App and this Privacy Policy to clearly describe such access.
2) How We Use Information
We use Shopify catalog information and app-related information to provide, operate, secure, and improve CatalogPilot, including to:
- Generate catalog health reports
- Discover and map product attributes
- Check Search & Discovery readiness
- Preview filter values and catalog issues
- Create proposed catalog fixes for merchant review
- Support approve, dry-run, apply, verify, and rollback workflows
- Store app settings selected by the merchant
- Maintain audit history, apply history, verification results, and rollback records
- Troubleshoot, secure, and support the App
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms or policies
Where a merchant approves a change, CatalogPilot may write approved product catalog updates back to the merchant’s Shopify store, such as product metafield or tag updates, depending on the permissions granted and the merchant’s selected settings.
CatalogPilot does not automatically apply catalog changes without merchant approval.
3) Information We Store
CatalogPilot may store information needed to provide the App, including:
- Merchant shop domain
- App installation and session information
- App settings and configuration
- Catalog audit results
- Proposed fixes and review status
- Apply history and verification results
- Rollback records needed to undo approved changes
- Operational logs needed for security, troubleshooting, and support
We retain this information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, maintain security, support merchant requests, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and operate our business.
4) Shopify OAuth and Access Tokens
CatalogPilot uses Shopify OAuth and Shopify access tokens to connect to a merchant’s Shopify store. Access tokens are used only to provide the App’s functionality and are protected using reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards.
If a merchant uninstalls CatalogPilot, Shopify revokes the App’s access to that store. After uninstall, we may retain limited records as reasonably necessary for legal, security, accounting, dispute resolution, or operational purposes, unless deletion is required by applicable law.
5) Sharing of Information
We do not sell merchant catalog data. We do not use merchant catalog data for targeted advertising.
We may share information only as needed to operate, secure, maintain, or support CatalogPilot, including with trusted service providers that help us provide hosting, database, infrastructure, analytics, support, security, and app operations. We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of SBX Performance, merchants, users, or others.
We share only what is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
6) Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed by CatalogPilot. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7) Merchant Controls
Merchants can control CatalogPilot by adjusting app settings, choosing whether to approve or apply proposed fixes, using rollback where available, or uninstalling the App from Shopify admin.
Uninstalling CatalogPilot revokes the App’s Shopify access through Shopify.
8) Data Retention and Deletion Requests
We retain App-related information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide CatalogPilot, maintain security, support merchant requests, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and operate our business.
Merchants may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of App-related information, subject to applicable law and any information we must retain for legitimate business, legal, security, or compliance purposes.
9) International Processing
Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms or other legally recognized safeguards.
10) Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or business operations. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above and post the revised policy. Continued use of CatalogPilot after an update means you accept the updated policy.
