Take your Type R to the next level by unblocking the OEM turbo and fuel pump in one go. The factory turbo and fuel pump run out of headroom at similar power, so this kit tackles both with the upgraded MHI turbo and the Full-Race High-Pressure Fuel Pump, plus the install hardware to bolt it all up cleanly.

The MHI Honda 2.0L Stage 2 Turbo is a 100% bolt-on upgrade built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the OEM turbo supplier to Honda. Often regarded as the most reliable turbo upgrade on the market, it trades a minor amount of response versus the OEM turbo for a big increase in flow, allowing it to thrive on the street, at the track, and anywhere in between.

Housings retain the factory mounting points and footprint. Inside, a 65mm 5+5 billet TD05-21HR3 compressor wheel (+7mm vs stock) and a 52mm TD04-HLL1 inconel turbine (+5mm vs stock) push capacity to 500+ wheel horsepower on race fuel or ethanol, with roughly +33% over stock (around 400 hp) on pump gas using a Hondata FlashPro calibration.

The Full-Race High-Pressure Fuel Pump, developed in partnership with Nostrum, is the largest-capacity HPFP available for any Honda application. It flows 68% more than the stock pump while still running the OEM 4mm camshaft lobe, so you skip the 5mm cam swap competing pumps demand. Max operating pressure is 250 bar (3600 psi), and each pump is laser-marked with a unique Hondata keycode for tuning. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Finishing the package, the Full-Race Type R Turbo Install Kit brings the gaskets, studs, nuts, and everything you need to mount the new turbo cleanly the first time. No mid-install trip to the parts counter.

(Note: Upgraded high-pressure injectors are required for meeting these power targets.) 
  • Hondata Tuning Integration: Every Full-Race HPFP is laser-marked with a unique Hondata keycode for plug-and-play tuning. Motec is also supported for FK8 development work.
  • No Drilled Fuel Lines: The HPFP ships with an all-new stainless steel high-pressure tube that replaces the OEM line entirely. No drilling the factory line.

FAQ

You can expect roughly 400 HP on 91 octane and 500+ HP on race fuel with proper tuning. The HPFP is rated for up to 830 WHP on gasoline and 700 WHP on E85, so your fuel system will have significant headroom for future upgrades. For ethanol, results will be limited by OEM Injectors, so we recommend XDI High-Pressure injectors to fully unlock your system.
Even at the lower end of the power range, the factory HPFP becomes a bottleneck once you increase airflow with a larger turbo. Upgrading the pump from day one ensures consistent fuel pressure, cleaner tuning, and the ability to step up to E85 or race fuel later without buying another pump.
Run the best fuel you have reliable access to. That could be 91 octane, 93 octane, or ethanol (E85), depending on what's available in your area. Higher octane and ethanol blends will let you safely make more power, with E85 being the preferred choice for those targeting the upper end of the power range.

One important note: running ethanol may require larger injectors depending on your power goals, since ethanol requires roughly 30% more fuel volume than gasoline to make equivalent power. The Full-Race HPFP is fully compatible with both gasoline and E85, so the pump itself won't be a limiting factor on fuel choice.

Every pump is dynamically tested and backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Both products are designed to deliver elevated power and performance without sacrificing reliability.
The HPFP carries a limited lifetime warranty from Full-Race. The MHI turbo is covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturer defects. Note that installing aftermarket performance parts may affect your vehicle's factory warranty.
No. The Full-Race HPFP is engineered for the OEM 4mm camshaft lobe. Full-Race does not recommend running this pump with a 5mm aftermarket lobe due to fuel pressure control issues.
No. Neither the OEM FK8 pump nor the Full-Race HPFP uses an internal filter. Filtration is handled by the in-tank fuel filter, which is standard for GDI systems.
No. The factory engine cover must be permanently removed and cannot be reinstalled. Reinstalling it will damage the fuel lines and may cause fuel leaks.
